The Merry Year

The merry year is born
Like the bright berry from the naked thorn.
~Hartley Coleridge

I don’t know about you but 2011 has proven to be an already great year, even only 2 days into it! The rain and snow melt has brought the rivers up. For our area, this is great. For us paddlers, this is even greater. We have had a really dry summer and fall with no water to help the weeping rivers. Not to mention what this does for the vegetation once spring arrives.

Also, my husband spent the majority of last week moving our business to a larger warehouse facility. It is directly next door to the old space, it’s larger and has room to grow. At the rate that our baby, turning toddler, business is progressing, growing is  on the agenda for 2011. We have big ideas and plans that we are excited about. If interested, you can follow us on Facebook, or the blog on our new website, Bliss-Stick US. Bliss-Stick US will be taking us lots of new places this year! As for today, we will complete the move, sign the lease and celebrate!

On the vegetable and eating front, that is going well too! I followed my own advice and made the yummy black-eyed pea salad and vegetable collards. Sooooo Yummy!! We were happy and content to eat a huge serving of beans and greens. I also spoke with the CSA farm yesterday. We should be able to register by the end of next week. I look forward to the delicious crops they bring each week. Plus, we will pick up at our local farmer’s market which will allow up to shop more local goods!

As for this week, it will definitely be time to put the nose to the grindstone. Vacation is over! School will start tomorrow and the planning will begin in full force. However, I am grateful. I look forward to seeing the kids and teachers at school, catching up with our team and deciding where to beat the pavement this spring and summer. In the meantime, drink espresso, give and take lots of hugs and kisses and appreciate every day!
