FOOD

I realized as I was posting the latest post that I really don’t bring justice to this area. There are so many things that are special about this place that I could probably start a blog strictly blogging about Asheville and the surrounding counties. So many hikes, bike routes (mountain or road), rivers from class 2-5, drives, parks, music, spas etc. I mean, I really could go on and on and on. So today, I am going to just tell you about some food worthy restaurants in the area and a few I would like to try. All food can be budget friendly if you choose wisely from a menu. If on a no eating out budget just find your way to a hand full of grocery stores here. We of course have the lush Greenlife/Whole Foods, as well as, Earthfare. However, most grocery stores around here have organic options. Just be smart when you are shopping. Also, there are fabulous farmers markets to be seen. If the markets aren’t open go directly to the farm, if option.

Asheville is known for it’s restaurant and food choices. I won’t even come close to bringing all the goods to light. If you are adventurous you can literally walk the streets and go eeny meeny miny mo and will most likely make a good choice. Here are some of our favorite spots we frequent when we get a night out without the young one. (NOTE: most all restaurants here are kid friendly, just check the website before heading out if you aren’t sure.)

MELA EARLY GIRL EATERY 12 BONES CURRAS DOM   LOBSTER TRAP MAMACITAS NINE MILE SUNNY POINT STONEY KNOB ARTISAN NOODLE SHOP   WELL-BRED BAKERY HEIWA SHOKUDO    and for the all vegetarian option, you must check out  THE LAUGHING SEED. (additional note: most restaurants have decent vegetarian options)

Restaurants that people are talking about, we hope to try…

AVENUE M CHAI PANI TOMATO JAM TABLE ZAMBRA THE ADMIRAL

And since we are out pleasing the palette why not mosey on over to one of Beer City USA’s tasting rooms for some micro brew!

THE WEDGE HIGHLAND BREWERY ASHEVILLE PIZZA AND BREWING L.A.B. PISGAH BREWING FRENCH BROAD BREWING CRAGGY BREWING THIRSTY MONK GREEN MAN BREWING

My head is spinning with the thought of all the yummy food and beer in this town! I haven’t even told you about the wine bars or dessert cafes. Seriously! Well, the FRENCH BROAD CHOCOLATE LOUNGE is worth mentioning but I swear, again, this post could go on for a really long time!!

See you at the pub!! Cheers!
