As I get emails from locals at the Outerbanks, watching the weather channel and reading articles, it is official. Evacuation. Our beloved Ourterbanks, more specifically, Ocracoke, is the target this time for the latest hurricane, Irene. No one is panicking, as this is not shocking and can be quite routine when you choose to dedicate the low lands as your home. However, it is never fun and there is the underlying anxiety to know if your adored home will still be standing by your return.
We hope the best for the folks down east and along Highway 12. Send energies into the universe to ask for mother nature’s gentle hand.
