Ho Ho Ho

Browsed the internet for gift ideas yesterday and really found some neat things. Thought I would share these budget friendly gift ideas for those family members and friends that you just can’t think what to get.

What I found:

-This is really a neat idea. Encourage those city dwelling family and friends to ride their bikes.

-I love Pacifica scents. I currently wear the spanish amber but really enjoy all the easy flavors they offer.

-These essential oils really will transform the room with their aroma. Plus, these oils also have health benefits.

-I thought these would be great for any beverage consuming male in the group. Cheers!

-I think these boards from green river works are gorgeous! This is a good gift for that difficult to find a gift for person in your  life. Functional art!

-Do you have a writer in your life? This is a cool journal.

-Simple, affordable and cute. Tusk Me.

-And for that baker in your life this is groovy way to store your baked goods. Specifically bread!

Plus, go here to see a links to Design Mom’s giveaway week. Really nice ideas! You never know, you might win something for yourself!

chopping the locks

Which do you like better?

My hair length is suitable for a cut about like these.

I will be going thursday to get these locks looking a little more like hair instead of a mop. I like one, the hubs like the other. (I won’t tell you which one likes which but I bet if you know us you can tell exactly which likes which :))

We need a tie breaker. What’s your pick?

This is lunch break today! Hair hunting while munching on edamame beans and grilled cheese grilled on the sourdough bread baked yesterday, watching the 2+ inches of rain trench the great outdoors.

Is it raining where you are? Snowing? Sunny?

Wherever you are and whatever the weather may be I hope you are well and happy!

one last hoorah!

We thought we would give it one last go, head out to the woods in the van and camp. Yesterday afternoon we headed to the Curtis Creek Campground (by the way the crow flies it is right over the ridge from our house but by mans way you have to drive through asheville to old fort and enter pisgah forest there) Parked and played.

Of course, the campground is only open for 4 more days and it was quiet. Although, we did meet an older couple from burlington, nc up for the weekend. That was it. Us, the dogs, the birds, the creek and the very quiet couple at the end of the lane. We knew the weather was going to begin turning today so we got out and in fast!

Such a blast. We spent most of the time piddling on the creek bank, RCB riding the push bike and snuggling with the pups by the fire. (who were ever so grateful for the treat. however, i did happen to shed a big boohoo of tears not having nate dog there. he was my camping buddy. he loved it! non-the-less, cassidy is a camping champ too so she was a superb role model for the other two pups!)

We did it all. Roasted hot dogs over the fire. Roasted marshmallows and smothered our faces in s’mores. Built the raging fire and layered up for bed time!

Now we are back anticipating the rain in the forecast, baking bread, doodling in the doodle book and still snuggling

Hope you all had a fantastic break. Enjoy the week ahead. I look forward to seeing what we can find this week!

Child’s Play

Well, now that we have feasted on the Thanksgiving grub it is now time to turn our attention to the adored holiday of Christmas. We just started talking about the big gifts for the wee one (not so wee at 4 and standing about an inch above my belly button!). I was thinking this…

What do you think? I had a treehouse when I was a kid and loved it. So much that my parents brought it with us when we moved! Eventually it got donated to a children’s program, once I grew out of it. But does one ever really ever outgrow out of a treehouse?

May not be an ideal gift for the winter ahead so think we will get the book and ponder the project till her birthday, in july! Still, something fun to plan!
