strap on the leather

Remember this post from a few days ago? Well, we did it and they turned out great. Fruit leather is about the easiest snack you can make for your kid.

It takes time. Good applesauce and time. We did intervals of drying in the oven simply because I had to bake the from scratch chicken pot pie. (Which takes a bit of time to make but well worth the afternoon of tinkering). By tuesday morning we had Apple Fruit Leather. (so good the amount eaten HAS to be monitored or you will be tending to a belly ache!)

As for these beverages I promised a review on, well, lets just say they were very tasty!!

Hubby really dug the Double Black IPA. As I did, even though I stuck primarily with the cider and wine. The IPA was rich in flavor, dark tones, not too sweet, and smooth.

The Decadent is an all time favorite of MRB’s. I love Ska brewing beers but this high gravity is too sweet for my liking. However, worth trying if you like dark beers with high gravity!

The Cider was crisp, light and airy. Would be amazing on a hot summer day! It recommended to be put on ice. I think next time I will make sure to chill it well and sip delicately from there.

We also enjoyed Pacific Redwood Wines that our guest added to the tasting. Both Shiraz and Pinot Noir were elegant and smooth! Highly recommended. We found them at EarthFare, not too expensive yet pleasing to the palate.

All of these beverages would be perfectly nice treats to add to your holiday meal.

Today I am off to play with RCB, plan the christmas eve dinner, bask in the last day of sunshine (for a few days anyway), and finally finish decorating!

Wherever you may be I hope you are grand!

ONE LOVE-
